Mountain Cabbage tree

Some leaf loss
Cordyline indivisa
  • Hardy to -10 °C
Mountain Cabbage tree from New Zealand. Treat as Dicksonia but give it more sun. Can't stand heat however. If this plant is happy in your garden, it is one of the most spectaculair plants you can get. Tolerates about 15 degrees of frost for a short period. This is not the plant that you find in the trade under the same name! Seedlings sometimes available. Did not survive the winter in March 2005. Survival as tubplant is better than in the garden, where fungi lijke phytophtora may attack this beauty. This awesome cabbage tree prefers volcanic soil, in the wild it grows on the slopes of vulcano's. According to a message from Belgium it seems successfull to add rusty iron
